Ford Family Review

“Every ounce of stress melted away the minute we pulled into the driveway of this fabulous lake house located on Lake Hamlin, a short five-minute drive from Lake Michigan. This three-bedroom, two-bathroom house is sheer perfection! It is perfectly appointed with the most amazing linens, every imaginable dish/utensils & serving utensils, antique glasses & china, a huge stockpile of towels, etc, a washer & dryer, and chairs and other items for the beach, etc. The sun porch is a great way to get out of potential inclement weather, play a board game, or to just sip your morning coffee. The outdoor dining area also offers stunning views of the lake with its majestic sunrises and sunsets, as does the back deck with its comfortable Adirondack chairs. Plus the cozy indoor living area, with its welcoming fireplace, is another great way to wind down the day. And while you will enjoy the privacy of beautiful Lake Hamlin and the secluded neighborhood, it is a short drive to outstanding restaurants (including THE best bloody Mary I’ve ever had), concert venues, convenience markets and grocery stores, thrift/antique/vintage shopping, plus other outstanding boutiques. I highly recommend you check out this gem! Cannot thank you enough, for the privilege of renting your lovely home. Our return is imminent and will be a yearly trek for us.”

  • We loved this house! It’s clean, and private, with plenty of space and a STUNNING view of Hamlin Lake off of the sunroom and back deck, perfect for morning coffee and/or a sunset beer! It’s just a few minutes drive to Ludington State Park and downtown Ludington. Meg was very thoughtful and responsive whenever we had any questions. We’d happily stay here again.

  • This house was beautiful! Great view of the lake from the deck and the porch. The house was spotless when we arrived with all the promised amenities. Meg was super responsive and helpful with any questions we had. We’d love to return the next time we are in Ludington.

  • The house is in a beautiful location overlooking Hamlin Lake. We enjoyed watching the sunsets from the porch, grilling, and making smores. The kitchen is very well stocked and has a nice gas stove and dishwasher. The bathrooms were very clean and included a nice shower and an excellent washer and dryer. The house is air-conditioned, clean and pleasant. There are three bedrooms upstairs and two sofa beds downstairs. The owner is available and responsive. Check-in and out was simple. My family of 5 adults was comfortable and would like to stay again.

  • My family and I had the most relaxing week here. The view is stunning! Morning coffee on the deck while watching the boats go by and the gorgeous sunsets in the evening are truly peace-inducing! The home is clean, spacious, and accommodating. Communication with Meg was great. Any questions were answered quickly. Ludington is a fun beach town with much to offer, but we found ourselves wanting to get to the house for games, family dinners, and that priceless view! Thanks for making our stay a wonderful one, Meg!

  • We have stayed in this charming home before and came back this time with our out-of-state family. We all enjoyed the stunning views and visiting with each other on the sun porch. Downtown Ludington is a short drive away, and we also took a few day trips to Pentwater, Manistee, and Frankfort. This home is very comfortable and well stocked with towels, toiletries, and everything you need for a carefree stay. We highly recommend this beautiful home if you are planning a stay in this area.

  • We were so happy when we found Meg’s house. The pictures don’t do it justice. We had such a relaxing time. The home is so cozy, the furnishing is so comfy and so many places to sit with beautiful views of Hamlin Lake. We can’t say enough about Meg, from the moment we rented the property she was communicating. We hope we can stay again soon…thinking about some spectacular ice fishing this winter.

  • Our hostess thought of every little thing that made our stay comfortable and relaxing The beds were comfortable. We enjoyed the chocolates on the coffee table and the bowl of snacks when we entered. Beach chairs were provided so we didn’t have to pack them. There were throws on all the furniture to wrap up in on chilly nights. The sunsets were amazing There was a birch craft presented by the ladies next door which we loved Nice restaurants and beaches nearby The cottage was beautifully decorated but not fussy. Everything was perfect Our group of 5 has been gathering for 12 years and have stayed in beautiful places up and down Lake Michigan but this is by far our favorite!! Can’t wait to return

  • Meg was great to work with from start to finish. She responded promptly upon the initial booking and was very responsive during our arrival and check-out. The three-bedroom house overlooks Hamlin Lake with a great 180 view from the sunroom. We enjoyed several meals in the sunroom and played lots of euchre ... it was such a great spot to hang out! The beds were comfortable, with clean linens and the house overall was very clean. There is a nice television in the living room with comfortable seating. The kitchen was well equipped and the house has a two-car attached garage. We booked five nights and wish we could stayed longer!

  • We had a fabulous stay, enjoying the proximity to the state park dunes and trails. The big glassed/screened porch overlooking the lake was delightful, and the sunsets were amazing every night!

  • This beautiful secluded lakehouse with spectacular views was just what we needed to escape our normal day-to-day activities. The kitchen is well-equipped with quality cookware, utensils, and appliances. The bedding and linens are high quality. Both decks are great for enjoying a morning cup of coffee. The front porch provided a wonderful breeze and a great place to enjoy evening family games while watching the sunset. While our family enjoyed this home in July, we feel it would be just as cozy in the winter with the new fireplace. We would love to visit again as Meg and Frank are wonderful hosts and very accommodating.

  • Absolutely beautiful home with the best view. Spent most of the time on the deck overlooking the water. Just a short walk to the dock where we rented a boat for the day. The owners were great to work with and answered all questions. I highly recommend this place. I hope to be back soon.

  • What a lovely time we had at this home. Perfect location with a lake view. We didn’t want to leave the property. While it was just adults escaping from reality for a few days, it would be perfect for families as well. Beautiful views and those beds and linens were quite dreamy.

  • We were looking for a place to celebrate our anniversary. We love cooking so we wanted a place with a view, gas range and fireplace. The heated sunroom allowed dining with a view of the lake and the fireplace made the place cozy and warm. The kitchen was well stocked with the right equipment, even the knives were sharp and that never happens with other rentals. This place delivered on all our expectations.

  • The cottage has amazing views of Hamlin Lake and everything we needed to make a great long weekend! Lots of space, but still feels cozy. Especially loved all of the windows and eating space on the front porch, where we could appreciate the view even when it was cooler outside! The decks are great too. Close to town, yet far enough to feel peaceful and relaxing. We would definitely stay here again.

  • We had the best time for Labor Day! This house was the perfect size for my family. The view is amazing And it is a super quiet area with lots of space for a fire and yard games. Less than ten minutes from downtown Ludington. The house is super cute and several things have been updated. Meg was amazing to work with and responded right away We will definitely be back again

  • The only bad experience we had at Meg’s place was saying goodbye! Just a great experience. From the moment we arrived, we felt completely at home in this wonderfully thought-out home. Meg reached out to us before we arrived to check if we had any questions. We fell in love with the view of the lake through the beautifully mature Birch trees off the deck. Oh, by the way, did I mention how great the house is? We hope we can visit again, sometime soon. Thank you, Meg!

  • The home was great with a wonderful view of Lake Hamlin. Sitting up high on a cliff we were able to enjoy the beautiful sunsets and activity on the lake without all the excess noise. The property was quiet, which was something we were looking for in a vacation spot. The house was well stocked and very clean, and the owner supplied good instructions on the use of everything in the home. Really enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend it!

  • We absolutely adored this house and the property owner. Meg is attentive, responsive, and easy to get a hold of if needed. The level of organization and detail in the home reflects the care that has gone into making this house a home away from home. We loved the breathtaking view of Hamlin Lake from the 3-seasons room, the proximity to Ludington State Park, and the fully equipped kitchen The house even came with a high chair for our one-year-old movie eater, which was a lifesaver considering we forgot our portable highchair at home! The house was clean and we only hoped our trip would last a few more days! We can’t recommend this place enough, which we affectionately refer to as the glass house!
