With 28 miles of sandy shoreline, you will have no trouble finding a sandy spot. The public beach at Stearns Park has been the recipient of numerous awards over the years. Most notably, USA Today recognized it as one of the Top 51 Great American Beaches, ranking it as the number one beach in Michigan. The beach boasts well-kept restroom facilities, meticulously groomed sands, and breathtaking views.

Fishing

The fishing is great on Hamlin Lake in summer and winter. Whether you traverse the bayous or head for deeper waters, Hamlin Lake offers tiger muskie, salmon, northern pike, large and smallmouth bass, perch, crappie, bluegill, and walleye. Hamlin Dam is an excellent spot for catching salmon in the fall. Our driveway is big enough to accommodate two cars and a boat. There is a boat launch minutes from our home.

The autumn season brings Steelhead and Salmon anglers to the banks of the Big Sable River near the Hamlin Dam.

Shopping

Ludington is a port city that is home to specialty shops and art galleries. Downtown is home to the famous House of Flavors Restaurant & Ice Cream Shop and antique shops, a natural-food store, a brewpub, clothing and music retailers, and arts and crafts shops. On some Friday nights in downtown Ludington, there are summer street parties and music. The farmers' market in the North James Street Plaza is a great place to shop for local produce and artisan works.
